Pre/Post Surgical Care

Ophthalmology Referrals

Optometrists and Ophthalmologist work collaberatively to provide their patients with the best managed care possible. The patient need not worry about their eye history getting lost through the cracks. Many patients need to be seen by their optometrist before and after the ophthalmologist is seen for their surgery. We comanage with specialized local ophthalmologists to ensure you the best care possibly within the city you reside.

Cataract Surgery Management

Cataract patients are commonly referred to Ophthalmologists for further care and removal in the aging community. After surgery is performed successfully, the patient returns to their optometrist for close scheduled monitoring. Eye drops are continued and adjusted by the doctor until the eyes fully heal and the swelling resides.

Laser Vision Correction

Many people ask themselves: “Am I a good candidate for laser eye surgery?”

The only way to find out is to get tested. Getting your full eye examination is a simple start and can give a very good idea if you are eligible for laser eye surgery. Considerations taken involve, but are not limited to: eye and body health, corneal thickness, strength of prescription and astigmatism, age of candidate, work/life demands, and overall expectations from the surgery. An optometrist can interpret in-office test results along with the eye and medical history to determine your options for laser vision correction.
